The Kid's Room

I've been meaning to show pictures of the kid's room for a really long time, but I wanted to finish Jackson's letters first. Now here we are, almost 8 months after that kid is born, and I've finally finished them! (I totally understand why people choose the baby's name before they're born. You have a lot more time then.) But anyways, here it is.

Juliann's side:
She's doing really great in her big girl bed nowadays. She rolled out a couple times a night for the first 3 or 4 days, but no longer. And for a while we bribed her with a piece of candy in the morning if she would stay in her bed. She does pretty darn good at that too. (Thank goodness she doesn't know how to open the door... yet). I am also working on a quilt to go on her bed. The quilt you see was made by my Mom and I used it forever when I was little.

(It's not until I post these pictures that I realize her wall has a TON of empty space. I might redo her letters and make them bigger. I'd also like to paint some canvases with big bright colors to fill some space. Oh well, someday.)

Her mobile is probably my favorite thing in the room.

Jackson's side:

I covered his letters with scrapbook paper and Mod Podge instead of painting them. I love this. It's super easy and there are a zillion tutorials online if you want to know how. I made his mobile with scrapbook paper and fishing line. The bumper pad- Goodwill for $5. I was shocked when I found it that it was kind of cute and it even smelled okay! :)

Don't look too closely at this "artwork." (Yes, I meant to put that in quotations.) It's very homemade and I had no idea what I was doing. I just needed something to help fill an empty wall.

So there you have it. Some day (hopefully) we'll have money and I won't have to make everything. But for now, I really enjoy it.

I love the artwork! The tree especially! You should seriously put one of those on etsy. What is the quote on the caterpillar?
