Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

I don't think I've ever been to a pumpkin patch. Shocking, I know. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while, so we finally jumped the gun yesterday. After some quick internet research on the best, cheapest pumpkin patches in Salem, we whisked Doug away from school where luckily his last class of the day had been cancelled, and headed up to Fordyce Farms.

We had the time of our lives. It was gorgeous weather and it was so nice to get out of the house and do something as a family. (A rare occasion these days).

They had acres of pumpkins for 15 cents a pound

They had a big straw mountain with tunnels all through the inside that Doug and Juliann conquered like ol' pros:

This picture makes me laugh. Doug told Juliann to crawl in this tiny tunnel because there was a rabbit inside. Juliann said, "Daddy, there not a wabbit in there." He tried to crawl in to prove it to her. Not such a good idea... She knows her Daddy well.

We went on a hayride:

And we chose some beautiful pumpkins. A daddy a mommy and a baby as Juliann says. Total cost for the day: $3.15 (for the pumpkins only). Can't beat that.

Oh, and then we bought three huge delicious apples and Juliann ate the WHOLE thing while we checked out the goats. Pretty much the best day of this sweet girl's life.

WOW! Fifteen cents a pound? We got ours for 32!! And that apple looks divine. Was it a Honeycrisp (Camden's and my favorite)?

P.S. That hay mountain is the coolest thing I've ever seen.
