Our sweet, smart and handsome little man is now officially four years old. It's hard to believe that this teeny little guy, who came into our lives and brightened things up one cold, gray, drizzly Oregon day is now four.
He is a huge joy in our lives. Shy to strangers, yet the craziest and loudest at home. He is a smart little guy and has a love for learning. He's observant, and is sweet to give compliments to people. He has an imagination like none other. He's always coming up with new games to play and new adventures for his Rescue-Bots, dinosaurs and monster trucks to pursue. He tends to like certain things to be just so and can't move on until he gets it that way. His favorite things in life include: pushing the button on our new crosswalk when we go to pick up Juliann from school, watching the trash truck in action, Thursday (computer turn day), playing with the sprayer in the kitchen sink, rough housing with Daddy, anything with Daddy, using the hose on the vacuum to suck up trash, and eating candy.
He makes a fabulous lunch date
Jackson loves to help me in the kitchen. One day, we opened a box of brownie mix. He was playing with the bag, turning it around and watching it fill the empty corners and seeing the imprints his poking fingers left. Then, I turned my back just for a second to grab some eggs... When I turned back I saw him with his fist raised high, and coming down in slow motion. I tried to scream "Nooooooo!" But it was too late. The bag exploded all over the kitchen. I mean ALL over the kitchen. And in his eyes. But he had fun in the shower. And I bought myself a steam mop that afternoon. And I love it. So some good did come of this ridiculous situation.
He loves salsa.
Excited about the "snow"
Playing an intense game with his army men, dinosaurs, dragon and scooper.
Tea party with the girls
I had to include these pictures from Christmas. Our family adopted a tradition that Doug's family does every year. One person hides an almond in one cup of pudding. It is mixed in with several other cups that don't have an almond. Everyone chooses a cup, and whoever gets the almond gets to open a gift. Well, Jackson was the lucky winner this year. He felt the almond in his mouth, and after looking a little concerned and contemplative, he quietly said, "I think I feel something hard in my mouth." He pulled it out and was stoked to see none other than, The Almond! His gift: A five pound candy cane. (Can you tell Doug picked it out?)
His four year old birthday cake (in terrible lighting). He really wanted a dinosaur cake again like I made him last year. But I wanted to do something easier and I think he was pleased.
