Obsessions of Juliann

Over the past month or so, Juliann has developed some pretty intense obsessions. I feel they are long lasting and extreme enough to document in the blog. Here they are in no particular order:

1. "Doe Doe"= Dora Dora from Dora the Explorer. She is CRAZY about Dora. I had to work really hard to get her to like some kind of tv show so I could take a shower by myself in the morning, and Dora won. Juliann lets me take a whole shower and get totally ready for the day all while she is watching Dora. It is wonderful! Now the problem is she wants to watch like ten
episodes a day...

2. "Wite"=Write=Color. She asks to color probably at least twice every hour, every day. Sometimes with her crayons, and sometimes with a pen. She gets all set up kneeling down at her little chair and just colors away.

3. "Wee Wah"=Swing Swong. This is probably her most serious obsession. It started while we were in Georgia for Christmas. My parents have a little swingset with a baby swing on it. Ever since then, Juliann brings up "wee wah" a lot. She likes us to swing her in a blanket. The only problem is she keeps asking for "moh, moh" as soon as we stop. She could swing all day and all night. She is a serious fanatic. This video is Juliann's Grandma and aunts swinging her and bouncing her all around. You'll see me sitting nervously off in the distance. :) I'm not so sure I like wee wah as much as she does.

4. (Rub index finger on right cheek and go "mmm, mmm")= Chapstick. Juliann has always loved to play with chapstick ever since she was a baby. Recently Doug got her a fruity pack of four different flavors and she went nuts. I made her a little bag to carry all her chapsticks around in. She can't go to sleep with out it. She loves to open one, take a whiff, let whoever else is there take a whiff, rub it on her cheek, put the lid back on and repeat with all the other flavors about 65 times.

5. "Be be"= Baby. Juliann is baby crazy. (That's a good thing, right?) She loves loves loves babies. I think she likes pretend babies more than real ones though. Her favorite and only movie she will watch is Toy Story 3 and she has recently started crying when she can't take the baby doll out of the tv and hold it. She likes to put a baby doll in a little toy bus she has. The other day when Grandma was here, they were playing with the baby in the bus, and the baby fell out. Juliann was inconsolable, so concerned about the poor baby, like things would never be the same. She's a sweet little thing.

These are her top five. In addition to these things, Juliann has started to communicate much more effectively. She understand almost everything we say, but has been slow on the talking. Here are some other "words/phrases" she has learned.

-"Doe doe doe" means "Go Cougars Go." That's right. She already has the BYU blue blood flowing through her veins. She thinks of this any time she sees any football game, or when anyone wears a cougar shirt. This, of course, is not to be confused with "doe doe" which means Dora dora.

-"Dju! Dju!" always very emphatic, means she wants her drink.

She also says P U!, more please, Elmo, toe, cold, tickle tickle, no way, yeah, up, nice, uh oh, hot, wa wa (for water), wet, back pack, bonk bonk, rock, throw, ball, and some other things that I can't think of right now.

She also loves to sing:

That is so cute/scary! Baby Juliann is gone! I'm glad that she watches tv now so Addison isn't the only one anymore. AND it's a lifesaver. The jean skirt picture is so cute! You should cut Bryn's bangs for me next time we see you. I can't ever get them very neat.
