Juliann's First Day of School
I get teary eyed even thinking about writing this post. My baby is officially a kindergartener. She was beyond excited to start school (as you can tell from the pictures). She couldn't wait! I cried like a baby after I dropped her off on the first day. She had a great first day last Friday and even a great second day the next Monday. But pretty soon after that she started saying things like, "Mom school is so long. And it's so boring." And "why can't you come pick me up early?" And then it turned into, "I don't want to go to school. I never get to spend enough time with my family anymore," accompanied by sobs and weeps and runny noses. I dealt with it okay the first day, but after about three plus hours of crying, three days in a row, (from BOTH of us) I was ready to look into homeschooling programs. Luckily thanks to some wise advice from my mom, we kept at it. And when she went to school on Friday, there were no tears! All day! I cannot even begin to describe the relief I feel at this. We've had our first weekend now after her first full week and here's hoping that she does okay when we drop her off tomorrow!

I can soooo relate to those feelings Shauna! But it does get better for everyone. There will still be those days where you'll hear, "I have a tummy ache...", and then you have to discern if they really do or if they have figured out how to fake sick. Hopefully school will become just routine and something we just do, like going to church. It's one more place to learn and grow! Hugs and love to you all!
HOLY COW MY BABY'S GROWIN UP! These pictures are so adorable! I'm so happy that things seem to be going a little better. I'm not a parent but I remember mom talking a lot about how kids crave routines and consistency. She's going to have a blast!
