Juliann Turned Five!

Juliann turned five back in May. I still can't believe we have a five year old. Where did the time go?!? She had a pretty fun birthday, starting with waking up with her room full of balloons that Doug and I had blown up and loaded in the night before. She was really hoping to have a swim party, but the weather just didn't cooperate. We had a fun party with some of her favorite foods, pizza and fruit at Grammie and Gramps' house.

She made a lot of her own decorations for her party and wanted to wear pink and her sparkliest clothes. Her cake is supposed to be a castle. She was so excited to blow out her candles, I think she had them blown out before we were done singing happy birthday.

Juliann is a sweet girl. She has a tender heart and loves to be a little mama to her stuffed animals, dolls and little brother. She loves coloring and making pictures for people. She loves to be silly (as you can see in her birthday interview. She just couldn't let it end with out doing something silly.) She loves animals and loves to feed the chickens grass and pet and hold them as much as we will let her. She frequently talks about when we get a dog (which I've told her will be when she's about 12 years old) but has already made lots of plans for what she will do with it and how she and Jackson will have to take turns feeding and petting it. She thinks she should get the first turn.

Juliann loves to be outside. She likes to cut the grass with scissors and pick flowers often. She gets mosquito bites like nobody's business. Those things have a nose for her. And her bites swell up to the size of Texas. We quickly learned that bug spray is her best and most constant friend the second she walks out the door. She loves to ride her bike and I think she's pretty close to not needing training wheels.

She loves all things girly- dressing up, sparkles, make up, and pink. She likes to plan ahead like her mama. She had her outfit picked out for her friend's birthday party about two weeks ahead of time and she likes to  pack her purse full of things she will need for our trips to the grocery store or park. She packed tissues for me to use at church last week when she found out I was giving a talk. And it was a good thing. I did end up needing them.

She has no problem being the center of attention when she's around people she's familiar with, but she can be pretty shy when she's not. She loves to sing and make music and dance. She's a fast learner when it comes to songs and melodies. I am hoping to start teaching her piano lessons if we ever get a piano. She loves to help me bake and loves all crafts, especially painting.

She will be starting kindergarten in less than a month! She is very excited to meet her teacher and make new friends. We have been cramming our summer full of all kinds of fun stuff that I think she's enjoyed. One of her favorites has to be going to the pet shop and poking her hands in the kitten's cages to play with them and pet them.

She's a good big sister to Jackson. They love to play and rough house together.

He's a good sport and lets her dress him up every once in a while.

We love our sweet little princess.

Cute girl! Addison thinks the silliness in the interview is hilarious. And the blue dress is so cute!
