Once again, it's been a while. This post is going to start the catching up process on what we've been up to over the summer. There will be tons of photos since they speak much better than I do.
We did lots of swimming. (At least when it wasn't raining like it did about three-fourths of the summer. Wettest summer ever!)
Juliann and Jackson made up lots of fun games to keep themselves busy. This day was boats and rocket ships.
One day we decided to try to take the kids bowling for the first time. We picked the perfect day to do that because a bowling alley nearby was having all kinds of special deals including free face painting and a free bouncy house. The kids were absolutely in heaven. We didn't think it could get any better but then a firetruck and ambulance pulled into the parking lot and the kids got to explore the inside and push all the buttons.
The kids went in for their yearly checkups and had to get four shots each! They did amazingly well! Juliann didn't even cry and Jackson only cried a little! We've got some brave, tough kiddos. We are so proud. And it helped that they got suckers and prizes after AND I had promised them we'd go out for ice cream that night if they were good. They'll do anything for ice cream and they certainly deserved it.
Juliann and Jackson play together really well most of the time. Sometimes they play dress-up. Here they are playing Mommy and Daddy and pirates. Jackson thinks that sparkly sequined headband makes him the fiercest pirate in the world, and I'm not going to tell him otherwise. I love it. Although, perhaps we should invest in a few manly dress up items?
We went to Stone Mountain with Doug's cousin Charley. We rode the cable car up and hiked down. Then we settled down for a picnic and watched the laser show.
The neighbors got a puppy for about two weeks. It was pretty nice since the kids could play with it whenever they wanted, but I didn't have to worry about all the other cumbersome taking care of it parts. I'm convinced that's the way to go, pet-wise.
The kids and I played a lot of baseball on Juliann's one of a kind baseball diamonds. You've never see a prettier one in all your life, right? And you'll never seen so many home-runs in all your life either. It helps when you can around to all the bases in under five seconds.

Hooray! I love when you blog! Great pics. In the first one, little Juliann's legs look like little gymnast Shauna's legs used to. And I love the bandaid one, and Jackson is rockin' the headband.
Such a fun post! Lots of awesome pics. I did love the band-aid one. It's adorable that Jackson's sparkly headband is his fiercest pirate ever accessory. Your kids have such wonderful imaginations! Love them!
I love this! Sounds like a pretty awesome summer for those guys. You have the cutest kids ever.
I love everything about this post! I still can't believe they both had to get four shots each and they barely even cried. That is truly impressive. Also, Jackson is working that headband.
Loved the "catch up" Shauna! Such cute pictures of a couple of cute grandchildren! They do have delightful imaginations for sure! Love to you all!
