House

In other news,

We have a house!

We moved out of my parents' basement and now, for the first time since we got married 6 years ago, we are not living in an apartment/condo/one room. We are loving it.
(Sorry, I know this picture is kind of ghetto, but it's the only one we've taken so far.)

Since this picture was taken, Doug has pressure washed basically the entire house, gutters, siding, windows, deck, garage, and the driveway. It looks even more awesome. :)

Now that we live in a house, we can do things like this:

1. Take our trash up to the street on trash day like normal people.
2. Bring our groceries in from the garage instead of having to carry them through the parking lot and then up three flights of stairs.
3. Jump up and down as hard as we want on the floor with out fear of disturbing our downstairs neighbors.
4. Play music as loud as we want with out fear of disturbing our sideways or downstairs neighbors. (Doug's favorite past time).
5. Play in our YARD. (My favorite).
6. Weed/plant flowers/do YARDwork.
7. Watch the grass grow or get bitten by the fire ants in our YARD. (If you can't tell, we are pretty excited about the yard.) (And yes, we do need to get those ants taken care of).
8. Put our junk in one of many closets, the attic, the garage, or the storage shed. (We have storage space now!)
9. Have a play room/spare room/craft room. (Mostly to store the kids' millions of toys.)

We live in the culdesac of a pretty small town now. It's very quiet and safe here. We have a pretty shady lot which is nice temperature wise, although we've had to slather the kids in bug spray because the mosquitoes appreciate the shade also. We have a deck to grill on, and a front porch to sit on and watch the kids play.

We are in love with living in an actual house!

As a side note, here are some chairs I'm repainting for our kitchen table. The best part is, they were FREE from Craigslist. You can't see the color quite right in the picture, but they are supposed to be aqua-ish. I love the color.
