First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers and will-be mothers out there! And Happy Mothers Day to my mom who is the greatest, sweetest and most beautiful mom in the world. I hope some day I can be half as good as a mom to my kids as she is to me.
I had a such a wonderful Mother's Day this year. I woke up early to nurse Jackson and was greeted by Doug slaving away in the kitchen cooking a fabulous breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy. What a sweet husband! After breakfast I had to rush over to practice playing the piano for a special musical number at church. Then I got home and rushed to get everyone ready for church. Juliann went to nursery for the whole time by herself since Jackson was born (although she was NOT happy about it), so we even got somewhat of a break to be able to go to our classes. She made me the sweetest little card in nursery with a pipe cleaner flower. It melts my heart.
After church we headed out to Doug's family's place to celebrate his mom's birthday. The men cooked dinner and then we had cake and ice cream. Then I got my mothers day present. Not one, but two fabulous purses. I just want to say that no one is better than Doug at giving the perfect gift. When it comes to giving me things, he knows me better than I know myself. I have been wanting a purse for a really long time now- something to carry when I'm by myself with out having to take the whole diaper bag with me. I don't think I ever mentioned it to him but somehow he thought of it and he even picked out super cute ones. (I'll try to put up pictures later). Let me tell you, I am so lucky to be married to this guy for so many reasons. All in all it was a really awesome mothers day and I'm so happy to be the mom of my two little angels.
