The Fair, and a few other things

Last weekend we decided to check out the Oregon State Fair that just so happened to only be about ten minutes down the road. Too close to pass up. So we packed up and braved the crowds to check it out. It was so much fun! The pictures don't come close to showing the extent of our visit, but they are the best we have. There was so much to look at. Juliann was speechless when she saw all the REAL animals. She just stared and stared. I think the goats were her favorite and she even held out a little piece of grass to feed one. We were going to take her into a petting zoo that had every animal you could imagine, but then discovered she really needed a diaper change, and by the time we got back they had closed down. That kind of stunk, but next year we'll be ready.

This is a chicken. I think it's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. It looks like a huge white hair ball.

We decided to get the full fair experience and eat fair food for dinner. We looked around and around and couldn't find anything but over-priced pizza and really plain six dollar hamburgers. After all that walking around, I was starving and snappy and demanded we just eat anything, so we did, only to later that night find on the other side of the fair about fifty other food booths including the coolest booth ever that sold two foot long corndogs and funnel cakes to die for. Oh well, next year...

We had a great time walking around to all the booths and watching little snippets of a break-dancing show, and a clown circus, and someone on stilts. The highlight of the night for me was when this huge, furry, rainbow thing in a creature costume snuck up behind Doug and stood right next to him for a while until Doug turned around and got his pants scared off. Oh man, that was really funny. (Okay, so it scared the pants off of me too, but it scared Doug more.)

As a side note, this is what our little Juje has been up to lately. She LOVES to accessorize. Any bag she sees laying around (even if it's full of dirty diapers) becomes her "purse." She has learned to work with what she has available to her. This is what she chose to wear with her jamies a couple nights ago:

Pink hat, bunny ears and pink shoes. Nice.

Also, she's become very attached to some of her books. Her current favorite is the Ugly Duckling. It goes everywhere with her, all the time.

(By the way, I love this picture. Classic Juliann face here.)

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Cute baby!
We're jealous of that ugly poof ball because our chickens are bald!

That rainbow fuzzy thingy is my new best friend! I wish I had seen Doug and you get scared!
